Hyderabad: A tragic incident cast a shadow over Kondamallepalli town in Nalgonda district on Sunday night when a woman killed her two children and then died by suicide following a domestic dispute with her husband.
Family dispute turns fatal
The woman, identified as Nagalakshmi (27), was originally from Jankala village in Bapatla district, Andhra Pradesh. She had been living in Kondamallepalli with her husband Kunchala Ramesh for the past four years after moving to Hyderabad for work.
The couple had two children — Avantika (9) and Mohan Sai (7). According to neighbours, Ramesh was addicted to alcohol, leading to frequent quarrels between the couple.
Woman kills children, ends life
On the night of October 19, the couple reportedly fought again. After the argument, Ramesh left the house and switched off his phone. Upset over the incident, Nagalakshmi allegedly strangled both her children before hanging herself from a ceiling fan inside the house.
Locals who discovered the tragedy immediately informed the Kondamallepalli police. Officers arrived at the spot and sent the bodies to the government hospital for post-mortem examination. Police registered a case and started an investigation.
The shocking deaths plunged the neighbourhood into deep grief, with residents mourning the loss of the young family.
