HYDERABAD: Responding to the Congress government’s annual budget 2025-26 in the Assembly, MLC Kavitha expressed strong criticism, labeling the budget as “all talk, less substance.” Addressing the media at the Assembly’s media point following Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka’s budget speech, Kavitha remarked that the budget was filled with repetitive promises, lacking tangible commitments.
She specifically addressed the state’s debt situation, highlighting that this year, only ₹30,000 crore had been repaid. Contrary to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s claims of repaying ₹1 lakh crore and citing it as a hindrance to development, Kavitha accused him of spreading falsehoods.
Kavitha also criticized previous false propaganda regarding debts incurred by the former BRS government under KCR’s leadership. She noted that while there were claims of ₹7 lakh crore in debts, the budget documents revealed that the total debts of Telangana amounted to ₹4.37 lakh crore, including ₹1.58 lakh crore in loans. She urged the public to recognize how Congress leaders had misled them concerning the BRS government’s debts.
