MLC Kavitha Slams Telangana MPs for Failing to Secure Budget Funds

Hyderabad, February 7: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has criticised BJP and Congress MPs from Telangana for failing to secure funds for the state in the recent Union Budget. In a tweet, she highlighted the lack of allocations by stating, “8 BJP MPs + 8 Congress MPs = ₹0 for Telangana.”

She also expressed concern over the central government’s refusal to grant national status to the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project, calling it yet another instance of discrimination against Telangana.

Kavitha accused the Centre of unfair budget allocations, neglecting key infrastructure projects, and ignoring Telangana’s cultural and regional significance. She alleged that since the state’s formation, successive governments in Delhi have failed to address its needs.

She further urged the Congress-led Telangana government to fight for the state’s rightful share, emphasizing that under former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), persistent efforts were made to secure special status for the irrigation project.

Kavitha criticised both BJP and Congress, referring to their inaction as the “8+8=0 model”, symbolising a collective failure to advocate for Telangana’s interests.
