Minister Damodar distributes ₹2.36 crore aid in Sangareddy, says Congress committed to welfare of poor
Hyderabad: Telangana Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha on Thursday led a major welfare distribution event in the Sangareddy constituency, providing financial aid under the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes and issuing new ration cards to eligible families.
Over ₹2.36 crore distributed across four mandals
Under the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme, the state released ₹1,13,13,108 to 113 beneficiaries from Sangareddy, Sadashivapet, Kondapur, and Kandi mandals. The Shaadi Mubarak scheme provided ₹1,23,14,277 to 123 recipients from the same areas.
New ration cards and inclusion efforts
Officials distributed new ration cards to residents, noting that nearly 39,000 cards had already been issued in Sangareddy district, while 68,000 applications remained under processing. They assured that all eligible low-income families would receive their cards in due course.
The event was attended by local leaders including MLA Prabhakar, Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, and MP Sanjeeva Reddy.
Govt focuses on inclusive development
In his address, Minister Raja Narasimha reaffirmed the Congress government’s commitment to inclusive growth. He highlighted various initiatives such as rural development, interest-free loans, and subsidies for SC and BC communities.
New medical college and housing plans announced
The minister announced plans to establish a new medical college and a 500-bed hospital in Sangareddy. He also promised to expedite housing allotments for economically vulnerable families in the region.
“We are not just launching schemes; we are building a better future for every household,” he said.
