Hyderabad: A private travels bus caught fire near an HP petrol bunk in Gayatrinagar under Meerpet Police Station limits early Thursday. The Meerpet bus fire broke out while the vehicle was being refuelled with diesel.
Within moments, flames spread rapidly across the bus and engulfed the vehicle. The driver noticed the danger and immediately alerted the passengers by shouting warnings.
Following the driver’s alert, all passengers hurried out of the bus. Their quick evacuation prevented a major tragedy, with no casualties reported in the incident.
Meerpet police and fire service personnel reached the spot soon after receiving information about the fire. Firefighters used a fire engine to bring the flames under control.
