Hyderabad: AICC in-charge for Telangana Meenakshi Natarajan on Tuesday urged Congress workers to launch a strong awareness campaign against vote theft. She asked them to treat the issue as a high-priority task ahead of the local body polls.
Speaking at a Zoom meeting led by TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, Natarajan said the party must complete its signature collection drive in every village by October 15. She asked local units to gather signatures in large numbers and submit them directly to the AICC.
She further appealed to all Congress workers to back the anti-vote theft movement initiated by Rahul Gandhi and the AICC. Noting party progress, she said Telangana leads all states in digital membership.
Natarajan accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah of misusing the Election Commission to enable vote theft. According to her, this manipulation helped the BJP win a third consecutive term.
“This is a fight for democracy. We must take the responsibility of educating the public,” she said. She called on all ranks of the party to carry the campaign forward with full determination.
Among those present at the meeting were Ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. Several DCC presidents, MLAs, and senior office-bearers also participated.
