Hyderabad: Medipally Police, in coordination with the Central Crime Station (CCS), Uppal, arrested three interstate burglars and one receiver linked to a string of night house-breaking cases in Chengicherla. The operation followed detailed analysis of CCTV footage and intelligence inputs.
The accused targeted locked homes during nighttime hours, fleeing with gold, cash, and valuables. Police identified and tracked the suspects across multiple states, eventually arresting them in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
Medipally police arrest gang after nine Chengicherla break-ins
The arrested persons include Mahadev Jha (A1 – Delhi), Pawan Gupta alias Pawan Kumar (A2 – Delhi), Mangal Singh (A3 – Kanpur, UP), and receiver Seeram Sav Beerendra (A4 – Bihar). All four are linked to four burglary cases filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Medipally Police Station.
Rachakonda police said the gang broke into nine houses in Kanaka Durga Colony, Chengicherla, during the night of January 15–16, 2026. The gang looted cash and valuables before fleeing to different states. Following sustained tracking, A1 was caught in Bihar. In addition, A2 and A3 were caught in Kanpur, and A4 also in Bihar. All were produced on transit warrants.
Police also revealed that the primary suspects have a long history of property crimes. Cases are registered in Delhi, Warangal, Jangaon, and Nalgonda, including violations under the Arms Act.
Officers recovered four mobile phones and ₹2.04 lakh in cash from the accused. Further investigation is underway.
