Hyderabad: A shocking attack in Nalgonda district left a man critically injured after he offered a lift to a stranger, triggering panic in the area.
The victim, Imran, a resident of Nalgonda, left for Hyderabad in his car for personal work. While passing through Narketpally, an unidentified man asked for a lift. Out of humanitarian concern, Imran allowed him into the car.
However, when the vehicle reached the outskirts of Chityal, the man sitting in the back seat suddenly pulled out a knife and attacked him.
Nalgonda lift attack leaves victim critical
The attacker stabbed Imran repeatedly on the neck and other parts of the body. He then tried to snatch the victim’s mobile phone and cash.
Despite severe injuries, Imran fought back. As a result, the attacker panicked and fled from the spot.
Meanwhile, local residents noticed Imran lying in a pool of blood. They immediately alerted the 108 emergency service.
Soon after, ambulance staff reached the scene and provided first aid. They later shifted Imran to Nalgonda Government Hospital.
Doctors said his condition remained critical.
Meanwhile, police registered a case and began an intensive search for the attacker. They are now examining CCTV footage along the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway to trace his movements.
