L’Oréal to open world’s first beauty-tech hub in Hyderabad in November

Hyderabad: French cosmetics giant L’Oréal will inaugurate the world’s first Global Capability Centre (GCC) dedicated to beauty-tech in Hyderabad this November, marking a major milestone in Telangana’s global investment footprint.

The announcement came during a meeting between Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s ‘Telangana Rising’ delegation and L’Oréal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus. The upcoming facility will serve as the company’s global hub for innovation, technology, data, and supply chain operations, powering its AI, analytics, and digital transformation initiatives worldwide.

Hieronimus stated that tech solutions developed at the Hyderabad GCC will be deployed across L’Oréal’s global operations. He also invited Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu to the centre’s official inauguration.

Minister Sridhar Babu noted that Revanth Reddy had actively pursued the investment and assured complete government support. He said Telangana is already a leader in med-tech and health-tech GCCs and is now pioneering new categories like beauty-tech.

He added that multinational companies such as Vanguard, Netflix, McDonald’s, Heineken, Jaggaer, and Costco Wholesale have recently set up GCCs in Hyderabad, along with hospitality players like Marriott.

During the meeting, the state delegation also presented details of the Telangana AI Innovation Hub (TAIH). In response, Hieronimus expressed interest in the initiative.

Special Chief Secretary (ITE&C and Industries) Jayesh Ranjan invited L’Oréal to consider manufacturing in Telangana. Hieronimus responded positively, indicating a willingness to explore future investments in production facilities.
