Hyderabad: Teach For Change founder Lakshmi Manchu met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and discussed collaboration opportunities for the Young India schools programme in Telangana. The Young India schools initiative aims to deliver equitable and quality education across the State.
Lakshmi Manchu, along with Devendra Vidyalaya Director Vijayender Goud, called on the Chief Minister to explore partnership possibilities. Moreover, the discussion focused on aligning Teach For Change initiatives with the government’s residential school model.
The meeting centred on integrated residential schools being established in every Assembly constituency. In addition, the programme aims to bring together students from SC, ST, BC, and minority communities on a single platform.
Young India schools focus on an inclusive education model
Lakshmi Manchu outlined Teach For Change’s work in government schools. She highlighted reading programmes, digital learning, infrastructure development, and teacher capacity building.
She said the organisation is ready to support policy inputs, planning, and implementation. Meanwhile, both sides discussed integrating these initiatives into the Young India schools framework.
The discussion also covered digital classrooms, volunteer engagement, and teacher training. Consequently, the proposed collaboration aims to strengthen the education ecosystem.
The Chief Minister outlined his vision to establish world-class institutions with modern infrastructure, advanced laboratories, and residential facilities. He said the programme is progressing across several districts.
Revanth Reddy said the initiative will reduce educational disparities and promote social integration. Furthermore, he emphasised the need to ensure equal opportunities for all children.
Officials said the meeting marked a step towards strengthening public-private partnerships in the education sector.
