Hyderabad: A 21-year-old youth who sustained internal injuries during a brawl at a permit room in Kukatpally succumbed to his injuries after nearly 25 days of treatment, bringing a delayed but tragic incident to light.
The deceased, identified as Dhanush from Gajularamaram, had visited the permit room attached to Daaruwala Wines in Kukatpally on April 5 along with a friend. While consuming alcohol, a heated altercation erupted between Dhanush and another group led by a man named Keshav, who was also drinking at the venue.
The argument quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, with Keshav allegedly assaulting Dhanush. Though Dhanush returned home later that night, he began complaining of severe abdominal pain by midnight. His family rushed him to a private hospital in Kukatpally, and as his condition worsened, he was shifted to NIMS Hospital in Panjagutta for advanced care.
Despite receiving treatment for several weeks, Dhanush passed away on Thursday night. On Friday, his family lodged a formal complaint with Kukatpally police, alleging that the fatal injuries were a direct result of the assault by Keshav at the permit room.
Circle Inspector Rajesh confirmed that a case has been registered based on the family’s complaint and that a detailed investigation is underway to ascertain the sequence of events and hold those responsible accountable.
