KTR slams Congress for ‘rowdyism’ after Jubilee Hills bypoll

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Saturday accused the Congress of resorting to rowdyism within 24 hours of winning the Jubilee Hills by-election. He condemned the alleged assault on BRS worker Rakesh in Rahmatnagar and visited him in hospital.

KTR alleges violence, rigging by Congress in bypoll

Speaking to reporters, KTR claimed that despite being in power for a decade, BRS never targeted opposition workers. He alleged that Congress secured the Jubilee Hills seat by “stealing votes, deploying goons, and distributing money.” He added that BRS lost by just 5,000 votes despite what he described as large-scale rigging and conspiracy.

Warns of public backlash if violence continues

Responding to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s comment asking him to “reduce arrogance,” KTR questioned the scale of the Congress victory celebrations. “Winning a single by-election doesn’t warrant such a procession,” he said. KTR asserted that BRS would reclaim Jubilee Hills and warned that continued hooliganism would provoke a strong public backlash.
