Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. Tarakarama Rao has launched a scathing attack on Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, alleging large-scale corruption linked to the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) chargesheet in the National Herald case.
According to KTR, the ED’s naming of Revanth Reddy in the case has exposed what he described as a sprawling “empire of corruption” led by the Chief Minister. He alleged that Revanth Reddy had promised political appointments in return for donations to the Young Indian organisation, a key entity under scrutiny in the case.
KTR further accused Revanth of paying hundreds of crores to senior Congress leaders even before becoming Chief Minister, claiming that his misuse of power has only escalated since assuming office. “What began with crores has grown into a scam worth thousands of crores over the past eighteen months,” he asserted.
He also questioned whether the ED would limit its actions to merely naming Revanth in the chargesheet or proceed with a full investigation into the alleged financial misconduct.
The BRS leader painted a picture of a crumbling Congress in Telangana, claiming internal rifts and rising dissent within the party were eroding Revanth’s authority. He suggested that the Chief Minister was resorting to diversionary tactics in the face of mounting rebellion and a weakening grip on power.
Referring to recent remarks by senior leaders and ministers, KTR highlighted what he claimed were acknowledgements of deep-rooted corruption within the Congress-led administration. He cited statements by Cabinet Minister Konda Surekha and MLA Anirudh Reddy, alleging that no government file moves without a commission and that a 30 percent cut was demanded for all work.
KTR declared that the Congress, exposed before four crore people of Telangana, was now floundering like a trapped rat. He accused the Chief Minister of not only looting public funds but also playing with the lives of the poor, claiming that the time had come for justice to prevail.
