Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Sunday paid tributes to CPI veteran Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, who died after a prolonged illness. At Makhdoom Bhavan, he offered floral homage and consoled the bereaved family.
KTR said Sudhakar Reddy left a lasting imprint on the Telangana movement and public life. He noted that rising from a student activist to serve as general secretary of a national party for seven years was a rare achievement. Moreover, he described him as a leader who grew from the grassroots into an extraordinary figure. According to KTR, Sudhakar Reddy worked with clarity, commitment, and a deep understanding of people’s struggles.
He further added that Sudhakar Reddy’s support for Telangana statehood and his role in mobilising national backing would always be remembered. KTR recalled that BRS had worked alongside him at the national level. He also said K. Chandrashekar Rao remembered their shared experiences. On behalf of KCR and the party, KTR conveyed condolences to the family, the Communist party, and those who participated in people’s movements.
Several leaders accompanied KTR, including former MP B. Vinod Kumar, MLAs Takallapally Ravinder, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Mutha Gopal, Madhavaram Krishna Rao, Kaleru Venkatesh, former minister Puvvada Ajay, and former MLA Jivan Reddy.
