KTR extends ₹5 lakh aid to journalist Damodar family

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao extended financial assistance of ₹5 lakh to the family of senior video journalist Damodar, fulfilling a promise he had made earlier.

Acting on behalf of KTR, Madhavaram Krishna Rao, MLA from Kukatpally, visited Damodar’s residence and handed over the cheque to the family members.

Damodar suffered a heart attack on December 5 at Jeedimetla in Hyderabad. Following the incident, leaders of the BRS extended support to the family.

Several BRS leaders, including MLAs Madhavaram Krishna Rao and KP Vivekanand Goud along with MLC Shambhipur Raju, visited the hospital and enquired about Damodar’s health condition. They also asked doctors to provide better medical treatment.

KTR fulfils promise to Damodar family

However, Damodar did not respond to treatment and later died in hospital. Soon after learning about the incident, KTR visited the residence of the deceased journalist and consoled the bereaved family.

During the visit, KTR assured the family that he would stand by them and extend support.

Accordingly, KTR later provided ₹5 lakh financial assistance to the family. MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao delivered the cheque to the family on KTR’s behalf.

The MLA also assured the family that the party would continue to support them in the future.
