KTR blames government for suicide of Mulugu municipal worker

Hyderabad: BRS working president and former minister K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday blamed the Congress government for the suicide of Mahesh, a sanitation worker at Mulugu Municipality. He said the worker ended his life after going five months without pay.

Responding to the incident on platform X, KTR called the death a “government murder.” He held Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Minister Seethakka directly responsible for what he described as an inhumane failure. He demanded that both leaders issue an apology for not ensuring monthly wages.

Mahesh had worked as a daily-wage employee and had not received his salary for five consecutive months. KTR asked how workers were expected to survive when the government had promised timely salaries by the first of every month during the election campaign.

He called for immediate relief to Mahesh’s family. He demanded ₹50 lakh as ex-gratia and a government job for the worker’s wife. KTR warned that BRS would continue its protests until the government delivers justice to both the family and other affected workers.
