KTR alleges sabotage in Nampally FSL fire; officials cite short circuit

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Saturday alleged that the fire at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Nampally was a deliberate attempt to destroy crucial evidence. He linked the incident to voice recordings in the cash-for-votes case involving Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and to files tied to the phone tapping investigation.

KTR shared his suspicions on social media platform X. Meanwhile, BRS leader Manne Krishank also posted on X, questioning the Chief Minister directly. “The entire lab is burnt down. What evidence have you destroyed?” he asked.

Officials cite short circuit as cause; damage under review

The fire started on Saturday morning in the FSL’s first-floor computer lab. It spread rapidly to other sections, damaging computers and electronic systems. Thick smoke forced staff to evacuate immediately.

Firefighters responded quickly with five engines and brought the fire under control. According to preliminary findings, officials believe a short circuit may have triggered the blaze.

North Zone DIG Shweta and Khairatabad Zone DCP Shilpavalli inspected the site and reviewed the situation. Authorities are now checking whether any forensic evidence or case files suffered damage. Police confirmed there were no injuries. They plan to assess the total property loss after a complete review.
