KTR accuses CM Revanth of plotting to dissolve new districts, urges BRS to launch protest

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Saturday accused Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of conspiring to dismantle districts created during the previous BRS government. He called on party cadres to launch coordinated protests across the state, particularly in the former Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda districts.

KTR issued the call during a party meeting with senior leaders, former MLAs, and district-level representatives from both regions. He warned that the Congress government was attempting to reverse decentralised governance gains made under K. Chandrashekar Rao’s leadership.

KTR links district rollback to betrayal of Palamuru region

Referring to Mahabubnagar, KTR said the district was divided into multiple administrative units to ensure development reached remote areas. He alleged that despite calling himself a son of Palamuru, Revanth Reddy was now working to undermine its administrative identity.

He also cited the slow progress on the Palamuru–Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme and the unresolved Krishna river water share as major issues being neglected. KTR urged party workers to mobilise public opinion through awareness campaigns highlighting the delay and neglect.

BRS discusses civic poll strategy, slams Congress governance

The BRS leader also discussed strategies for the upcoming municipal elections. He advised party units to devise municipality-specific action plans and focus on showcasing past development under the BRS.

KTR asked BRS workers to expose what he described as 25 months of Congress misrule and failure to fulfill electoral promises. He said Mahabubnagar, the only corporation in the district, must receive special attention in the campaign narrative.

In a separate meeting with leaders from the former Nalgonda district, KTR asked party cadres to remind voters how the BRS transformed the backward region through investments in urban infrastructure and welfare.

He criticised the Congress for halting major projects initiated by the BRS and accused it of rolling back welfare schemes. KTR emphasised that despite having two ministers from Nalgonda, the Congress had failed to deliver any substantial benefits to the region.

KTR calls for repeat of panchayat poll performance in civic polls

KTR noted that the BRS had achieved strong results in the recent panchayat elections in Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda. He urged party members to replicate the momentum in the municipal elections.

Party leaders also shared ground reports from their respective municipalities during the meeting. Senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao attended the strategy session and provided further guidance on electoral coordination.
