Konda Surekha paid tribute on National Forest Martyrs’ Day, promises forest police benefits

Hyderabad: Forest and Environment Minister Konda Surekha on Thursday announced that forest police in Telangana would soon enjoy the same benefits as state police personnel. She made the statement during National Forest Martyrs’ Day at Nehru Zoological Park, Bahadurpura.

State support for families of forest martyrs

The programme, organised by the State Forest Department, honoured personnel who lost their lives protecting forests. Minister Surekha said the government would continue to support the families of forest martyrs and safeguard their welfare.

Forest police role vital in conservation

Surekha underlined the vital role of forest police in conservation. She said they form the backbone of protection efforts and assured that their services would be recognised on par with other law enforcement agencies.
