Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Thursday said the government would develop Nalgonda into a Super Smart City. He appealed to voters to elect all 48 Congress corporators in the upcoming Nalgonda Municipal Corporation elections.
During the day, the Minister campaigned extensively across several divisions of the town along with MLC Kethavath Shankar Naik. As a result, large crowds joined the roadshows and assured support to Congress candidates. Many expressed confidence in development-driven governance.
Komatireddy said the government had already spent more than ₹2,000 crore on Nalgonda’s development. Moreover, he said the town’s elevation to Municipal Corporation status had opened new avenues for growth. He assured residents that authorities would address issues raised during the campaign on priority after the elections.

The Minister said he had never betrayed the trust of the people. He added that he had no personal interest in accumulating wealth. Instead, he said he would always remain among the people as their son and brother, sharing their concerns and hardships. Seeking votes as a mark of gratitude, he said the government had taken up all-round development in line with public aspirations.
Meanwhile, Komatireddy highlighted welfare initiatives implemented by the Congress government. These included ration card distribution, supply of fine rice, the Indiramma housing scheme, free bus travel for women, and free power up to 200 units. He assured that every eligible poor family would receive a house with ₹5 lakh assistance under the Indiramma scheme. He also said the government would implement all promises in a phased manner.
Expressing confidence of a clean sweep, the Minister said public response indicated that Congress would win all 48 divisions. He claimed that both the Bharat Rashtra Samithi and the BJP had lost touch with the people. Therefore, he urged voters not to waste their votes.
Responding to questions on actor Pawan Kalyan’s proposed visit to Nalgonda, Komatireddy said it was unclear whom he was campaigning for. He stated that the BJP and BRS were on the back foot in Telangana. He added that if Pawan Kalyan visited Nalgonda, he should offer prayers at the Anjaneya Swamy temple and see the development works in the town.
