Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Sunday inspected the proposed elevated corridor project at Vanasthalipuram Junction linking LB Nagar to Pedda Amberpet in Hyderabad, stressing the urgent need to move forward.
Accompanied by National Highways officials, the Minister assessed the site, evaluated feasibility, and emphasised that the elevated corridor project is central to improving connectivity. He said the project is estimated at ₹650 crore and would be developed as a greenfield route.
Elevated corridor project aims to cut travel time significantly
Komatireddy said the elevated corridor project will shorten travel between Hyderabad and Vijayawada to just a few hours. He added that he plans to meet Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on August 6 to press for expedited approval and implementation.

He also criticised BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao for claiming that Hyderabad’s transformation under BRS flyovers was comprehensive. Komatireddy pointed out delays in the Uppal‑Narapalli flyover completion and questioned what the BRS government delivered over the past decade.
He asserted that the previous BRS administration failed on development and left Telangana heavily indebted. “The people voted for Congress to safeguard the state,” he said. He questioned BRS MLC K. Kavitha’s absence on BC reservation issues over ten years. “Our Indiramma government ensures eligible individuals receive ration cards, subsidised rice, and housing,” he added.
