Hyderabad: Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Wednesday said the BRS had betrayed Palamuru during its ten-year rule, which led to the party’s rout in Parliament elections. He emphasized that the Palamuru betrayal was evident since the party failed to secure even deposits because people rejected its record.
The minister inaugurated development works worth ₹25 crore at Bhoothpur in Mahabubnagar district. He launched the works along with Minister Vakiti Srihari, aiming to rectify the past issues.
Addressing a public meeting, Komatireddy accused BRS leaders of spreading false propaganda on the Palamuru–Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project. He questioned how a project estimated at ₹80,000 crore could reach 90 percent completion with only ₹27,000 crore spent, highlighting it as another instance of Palamuru betrayal.
Minister Komatireddy said Palamuru voters punished the BRS for neglecting the region. He added that the party lost deposits in Parliament elections due to this betrayal.
Komatireddy recalled that the BRS won only three Assembly seats across Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar, and Khammam districts. He noted that these districts together have 38 constituencies, underscoring the extensive impact of the Palamuru betrayal.
Minister said repeated defeats had not brought any change in the BRS leadership. He added that the party ignored public verdicts despite clear rejection, continuing the Palamuru betrayal.
