Hyderabad: The National Medical Commission (NMC) granted approval for Kodangal Medical College on Tuesday, sanctioning 50 MBBS seats.

The commission issued orders permitting the new college, marking a major boost for medical education in the constituency. Health Secretary and medical education officials were congratulated by Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha for securing the approval. Admissions for MBBS courses at Kodangal are scheduled to begin this year.
Over 4,100 MBBS seats in government colleges
The approval came just two days after the Supreme Court upheld Government Order 33, resolving local quota issues. With this clearance, first-phase counseling is expected to start within a couple of days. Across Telangana, government medical colleges will now have more than 4,100 MBBS seats available for students.
