KLM launches direct Hyderabad to Amsterdam flights, 3 times a week

Hyderabad: In a major boost for international travellers, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has launched direct flight services from Hyderabad to Amsterdam, making it easier for passengers from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to reach Europe. The non-stop service officially commenced on Wednesday and will operate three times a week.

Hyderabad becomes KLM’s fourth India gateway

KLM Chief Operating Officer Maarten Stienen said the Hyderabad service is part of the airline’s India expansion strategy. The carrier already operates from Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai, and Hyderabad is now its fourth gateway in the country.

Currently, 24 weekly flights are operated between India and Amsterdam. Stienen added that the frequency will rise to 27 flights during the winter schedule.

Boeing 777-200ER deployed on the Hyderabad–Amsterdam route

Highlighting Hyderabad’s growing importance as a hub for the IT and pharma industries, Stienen said the city also holds strong cargo potential. The new service will deploy Boeing 777-200ER aircraft with a seating capacity of 288 passengers across classes.

Officials said the new connectivity will provide a boost to both the business and tourism sectors between South India and Europe.
