Kishan Reddy slams Congress, BRS as ‘two sides of same coin’

Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accusing both parties of looting Telangana for decades.

Addressing the media at the BJP state headquarters in Hyderabad, he said the two parties were no different from each other. Therefore, he asserted, neither Congress nor BRS had the moral right to criticise the Bharatiya Janata Party.

According to Kishan Reddy, both parties had damaged the State in every possible manner. He remarked that while one family looted Telangana earlier, another family was now fighting over the same wealth.

Moreover, he alleged that ministers were openly quarrelling among themselves for shares, which, he said, exposed the true nature of governance.

Kishan Reddy criticism targets Singareni, Communists

Turning to governance, Kishan Reddy said the BJP alone could protect Telangana. Hence, he urged people to give the party an opportunity to form the government.

On Singareni, he said the coal major needed immediate administrative reforms. At the same time, he clarified that the Centre had no authority over Singareni Collieries Company Limited.

He stated that nearly ₹51,000 crore in dues were pending from the State government to Singareni. As a result, he said, both Congress and BRS had caused lasting damage to the organisation.

Referring to the previous government, Kishan Reddy alleged that K. Chandrashekar Rao had turned Singareni into a “private limited company.” Consequently, he warned, the future of Singareni employees had fallen into uncertainty.

Meanwhile, Kishan Reddy dismissed statements by Communist parties claiming they would unseat Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He questioned how such claims were possible with just one MP.

Finally, he said the Communists should focus on saving their own party before making such statements.
