Hyderabad: BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday paid tributes to Acharya Konda Laxman Bapuji, describing his role in the Telangana statehood movement and commitment to social justice as unforgettable.
KCR recalls Bapuji’s legacy and Telangana contributions
On the occasion of Bapuji’s birth anniversary, KCR remembered him as a Gandhian, freedom fighter, and first-generation Telangana activist. He recalled his personal association with Bapuji and praised his democratic spirit and sacrifice.
KCR stated that the previous BRS government had honoured Bapuji by establishing a State Horticulture University in his name and officially declaring his birth anniversary as a commemorative occasion. These steps, he said, aimed to ensure that future generations recognised Bapuji’s legacy.
Welfare inspired by Bapuji’s ideals
He noted that the BRS administration had launched several welfare schemes inspired by Bapuji’s dedication to uplifting weaker sections. KCR emphasised that upholding Bapuji’s ideals and sincerely working for the progress of BC communities remains the highest tribute to his memory.
