Hyderabad: Government Whip Beerla Ilaiah launched a scathing attack on BRS chief and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for making only a brief appearance in the Telangana Assembly. Speaking to the media, Ilaiah alleged that KCR attended solely to secure his monthly salary and maintain MLA status, not to address public concerns.
KCR returned to the Assembly after a long break but stayed only a few minutes before exiting. Ilaiah said BRS supporters had hyped KCR’s appearance online, but his quick departure proved it was mere tokenism.
Ilaiah further claimed that KCR avoided addressing the House because he would have had to refer to the Dalit Speaker with respect. “He feared calling the Speaker ‘Adhyaksha’ as per decorum. This shows his deep-seated bias against Dalits,” Ilaiah stated.

He added that KCR’s actions reflected a lack of accountability and concern for legislative discussion. “His presence was just a formality. This is not how a responsible legislator behaves,” Ilaiah said, urging the public to see through what he described as a deliberate disregard for democratic norms and Dalit representation.
