Kavitha links BJP MPs’ resignation to BC Bill implementation

Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi President Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Saturday said that the resignation of BJP Members of Parliament from Telangana would clear the path for the BC Bill’s passage, intensifying pressure on the Centre.

Kavitha led a human chain demonstration at Khairatabad Junction, organised alongside leaders from Telangana Jagruthi and the UPF. The protest, which lasted an hour, was held in solidarity with Backward Classes demanding reservation rights.

She criticised both the Congress and the BJP for what she described as a pattern of public deception over BC reservations. Kavitha accused the Congress of issuing misleading government orders and the BJP of stalling the BC Bill in Parliament, despite both parties backing the ongoing BC bandh.

In a sharp remark, she likened their conduct to “those who pose as mourners while being the real perpetrators.” She said that if the BJP was sincere, Telangana MPs from the party should directly pressure Prime Minister Narendra Modi to move the bill forward.

Kavitha backs new movement for BC reservation push

Kavitha announced the launch of a new movement inspired by the Telangana statehood struggle, aimed specifically at securing BC reservations. She said youth from BC communities in Telangana had already pledged their support for the campaign.

She added that their active participation would strengthen the national cause of social justice for Backward Classes. Kavitha also stressed the urgency of halting false promises by major political parties and implementing the BC quota without further delay.
