Hyderabad: BRS MLC K Kavitha on Friday hit back at allegations linking her to the Delhi liquor scam case, insisting she had been wrongly targeted and that the courts had vindicated her.
Speaking to reporters during her visit to Adilabad district, Kavitha declared her priority was to protect the BRS from any attempts to destabilise it. She dismissed the possibility of merging with the BJP, describing such a move as a betrayal of the party’s legacy.
Kavitha attended several private events in Mancherial, where she was greeted by Telangana Jagruthi workers with enthusiastic cheers. She paid floral tributes to the statue of Telangana Talli and later engaged with the media.
“If the BRS joins hands with the BJP, it would be nothing less than an admission of guilt in the liquor scam,” she asserted. She warned that parties aligning with the BJP had no political future.
Recalling her time in jail, Kavitha said she had firmly rejected suggestions to merge the BRS with the BJP even then. She also questioned how her personal letter to party chief KCR had ended up in the public domain.
On her own political path, she made it clear she had no plans to float a new party and was fully committed to rebuilding the BRS. She emphasised she had no fear of being expelled from the party.
Kavitha also announced plans to convene a meeting soon with BC community organisations in Adilabad to address their concerns.
