Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi president K. Kavitha asked TGSRTC Managing Director Nagi Reddy to reinstate workers dismissed since 2021. She met him at the RTC Bus Bhavan and said the corporation removed 1,300 employees for minor issues. She urged the management to correct the decisions without delay.
Kavitha demands reinstatement of dismissed TGSRTC workers
Kavitha said the corporation removed drivers, conductors and other staff over small disputes. She noted that officials earlier approved orders to return 491 workers. However, she found that the corporation made no effort to bring them back. She asked the management to reinstate all 491 workers at once. In addition, she urged the government to act on the remaining dismissed staff.
She criticised the increased use of hired and electric buses. According to her, the corporation cannot control private drivers on those vehicles. She said TGSRTC must assign trained RTC drivers to them. Furthermore, she warned that safety risks may rise if private drivers operate those buses. She said accidents could create confusion over liability.
Kavitha asked the corporation to clear all pending dues owed to staff. She also pressed the government to complete the TGSRTC merger process. She said the merger would secure public travel and protect worker employment.
