Kavitha questions BC reservation move, demands caste survey data

Hyderabad: Former MP and Telangana Jagruthi chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Monday accused the Congress government of conspiring to finalise BC reservations in local body polls without disclosing caste survey data.

In a post on social media platform X, Kavitha alleged that the government was fixing reservations to suit its political convenience. She said that without releasing the full caste enumeration report, any move to implement 42% BC reservations lacked transparency.

Kavitha demanded that the government reveal village-wise caste survey data before announcing election dates. She warned that rushing the process would amount to injustice to BC communities.

“Congress is trying to gain electoral advantage by manipulating reservation allotments. If the government is serious, let it first prove its intent by publishing the caste survey,” she said.

Kavitha also noted that district officials had already completed exercises on MPPTC, ZPTC, MPP, sarpanch, and ward-level reservation structures. However, she pointed out that collectors have warned officials not to leak details, raising further suspicion.

She asserted that Telangana Jagruthi has consistently worked with integrity to secure increased BC reservations. “Our fight will continue until rightful representation is ensured,” she declared.
