Kavitha challenges KTR over Adilabad industry and irrigation projects

Hyderabad: Telangana Rakshana Sena president Kavitha challenges KTR over Adilabad’s closed cement industry and the absence of a textile park. She questioned the former minister’s record during the BRS government’s 10-year tenure. Kavitha raised these issues while addressing the Panchajanya Sankalpa Sabha at Indravelli in Adilabad district on Friday. Her remarks came ahead of the BRS public meeting scheduled in Adilabad on Sunday.

Kavitha also dismissed the proposed BRS gathering as an exercise in internal rivalry rather than a show of strength. She described it as a tussle between the leaders she called the Siddipet Babu and the Sircilla Babu.

During her speech, Kavitha asked why KTR had not reopened the cement industry when the BRS held power. She questioned the party’s failure to protect the public-sector unit during its decade in office.

Kavitha challenges KTR over the Chanaka-Korata barrage

Kavitha contrasted the closed Adilabad cement industry with the reopening of a private paper industry in Kagaznagar under KTR’s watch. She asked why he had not shown similar interest in the government-owned industrial unit in Adilabad.

She also demanded an explanation for the BRS farmers’ meeting in the district without answers to these concerns. Another issue she raised was the additional Rs 1,700 crore spent on the Chanaka-Korata barrage project.

The Telangana Rakshana Sena president sought details about who had received the additional amount. She named former district ministers Indrakaran Reddy and Jogu Ramanna, along with the then Irrigation Minister. Kavitha questioned whether any of them had received the money.

Kavitha challenges KTR’s record as Industries Minister as well, asking why he had not established a textile park in backward Adilabad. She referred to his visits across India and abroad while holding that portfolio.

She asked KTR to answer her questions before attending the BRS farmers’ meeting in Adilabad. Kavitha repeated her challenge at the Indravelli gathering on Friday.
