Kavitha calls for new social justice movement in Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruti president Kalvakuntla Kavitha said the time had come for a new movement for social justice in the state, declaring herself “the arrow shot by the people of Telangana.”

Kavitha says BRS, Congress failed to uphold public causes

Speaking at the “Jagruti Janambata” programme in Karimnagar on Saturday, Kavitha claimed there was a leadership void in the state. She said both Congress and BRS had failed to address people’s issues, focusing instead on electoral gains in Jubilee Hills while farmers battled crop loss and Warangal city remained waterlogged.

She voiced concern over neglected sectors including workers’ rights, education, and women’s representation. Kavitha also demanded that Backward Classes, who make up 52% of Telangana’s population, receive reservation proportional to their numbers.

Signals political resolve, hints at future course

Responding to queries about her resignation, Kavitha said she had already requested its acceptance and would take a final call after completing the Jagruti Praja Yatra. “I will speak again with the Council Chairman. Our next steps will be decided soon,” she said.

Kavitha urged people to support what she termed a ‘revolutionary change’ and a renewed struggle for equitable representation and justice in Telangana.
