Two arrested in robbery case at Kacheguda station, cash and phone recovered

Hyderabad: Kacheguda Railway Police on Tuesday apprehended two individuals involved in a recent robbery at Malakpet MMTS station, seizing a mobile phone and ₹500 in cash from their possession.

The arrests were made during a surprise inspection at Platform No. 1 of Kacheguda Railway Station at around 2:30 pm on June 18. The suspects were identified as Dasari Mounika, 20, of Amberpet, and B. Sukkaiah, 35, from Pothugal village in Ranga Reddy district. Police said the pair was moving suspiciously when they were detained for questioning.

During interrogation, both confessed to forcibly snatching a mobile phone and cash from a 50-year-old man, Kanakaiah, at Malakpet station while he was attempting to board a train. The incident had been registered under Cr. No. 107/2025 U/s 309 (6) BNS at Kacheguda RPS.

A Redmi mobile phone and ₹500 were recovered from the duo.

The operation was carried out by R. Yellappa, IRP, in coordination with RPF and GRP teams including B.G. Prasada Rao, Ch. Subba Rao, B. Swarupa, N. Vanpal, and Laxmikanth. The arrests were made under the supervision of Railway SP Chandana Deepti, IPS, and DSRP S.N. Jawed.

IGP (Railway and Road Safety) K. Ramesh Naidu, IPS, commended the team and announced rewards for the personnel involved.
