KA Paul accuses Congress of betraying BCs over reservations in Telangana

Hyderabad: Praja Shanti Party president K.A. Paul on Wednesday accused the Congress government of misleading Backward Classes (BCs) over reservations in Telangana. He alleged that the party was filing court petitions as political theatre, without any real intent to deliver justice.

Paul also took aim at BC leaders like R. Krishnaiah, urging them to stop playing into what he described as Congress-led drama. He said Congress had repeatedly promised change but had never made a BC leader the Chief Minister.

“In 79 years, 12 Chief Ministers came from the Reddy community, which makes up just 5 percent of the population. Meanwhile, 52 percent of BCs continue to be denied their rightful place,” Paul said.

Paul demands BC leadership at the top

Reaffirming that his Praja Shanti Party exists to fight for BC rights, Paul challenged the Congress to appoint a BC leader like V. Hanumantha Rao, Mallu Ravi, or G. Vivek as Chief Minister. He accused Revanth Reddy of using BCs only for electoral gain while denying them leadership roles.

Paul also urged BC voters to “stop being slaves.” He called on them to unite under a BC-led party and resist what he termed as caste-driven dynasties. “If you believe in BC reservations, then support a BC-led party at the ballot box,” he said.

Praja Shanti Party to contest Jubilee Hills by-election

Responding to questions on the upcoming Jubilee Hills bypoll, Paul confirmed that his party would field a candidate. He said he would soon decide whether to contest personally or nominate someone else from the party.
