K Murali takes charge as Director of DLRL-DRDO

Hyderabad: K Murali has been appointed as the new Director of the Defence Electronics Research Laboratory (DLRL), a key unit of DRDO specialising in Electronic Warfare Systems. He assumed charge on July 1, following the retirement of N Srinivas Rao, who superannuated on June 30.

Murali, who holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Mysore and a Bachelor of Science degree from Osmania University, began his career at DRDO in 1990 as Scientist–B at DLRL, Hyderabad.

He has worked across several levels in the lab over the past three decades, contributing to the design, development, and fielding of Electronic Warfare Systems, RF Seekers, and Counter Drone Systems for the Indian Armed Forces.

According to a press release, Murali has also overseen collaborations with academic institutions and industry partners, guiding research efforts in advanced technology areas.

DLRL has been supplying integrated Electronic Warfare Systems to the Army, Navy, and Air Force for over 60 years.
