Hyderabad: Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi at Panjagutta Circle on the occasion of his death anniversary, acknowledging his enduring influence on India’s technological advancement.
Joined by PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, former ministers Jana Reddy and Hanumanth Rao, Government Whip Beerla Ilaiah, MP Anil Yadav, MLA Danam Nagender, and other Congress leaders, the minister honoured Gandhi’s memory by garlanding his statue during a commemorative gathering in Hyderabad.
Speaking to reporters at the memorial, Jupally described Rajiv Gandhi as the driving force behind India’s transformation into a technology-driven economy. He said the former prime minister’s forward-thinking initiatives had paved the way for a digital revolution that continues to shape the country’s global standing today.
Jupally also reflected on Gandhi’s enduring legacy in promoting secularism and social equity. He remarked that Gandhi’s vision for a modern, inclusive India continues to resonate with the principles guiding governance in Telangana. The state, he said, remains firmly committed to pursuing the ideals the late leader stood for.
