Hyderabad: Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said former chief minister KCR failed to protect Telangana water rights during his ten years in power.
Speaking to a media organisation on Saturday, Jupally said KCR committed several errors in water management. He said these decisions weakened Telangana water rights and harmed farmers across regions. He alleged that KCR only projected concern for Palamuru to safeguard the Bharat Rashtra Samithi.
The minister asked why KCR could not complete the Palamuru–Rangareddy project despite ruling for a decade. He said inaugurating only a pump house and calling it a national dedication misled the public.
KCR accused of misleading stand on Telangana water rights
Jupally recalled that the BRS earlier told the Supreme Court of India that the Palamuru–Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project served only drinking water needs. He said the party later shifted its stand for political gain.
Rejecting claims of political targeting, Jupally said voters had already responded. He cited Assembly, Lok Sabha, and recent gram panchayat election results. He said the BRS lost public confidence and no longer carried political strength, especially on Telangana water rights.
