Hyderabad: Rajit Gupta from the IIT-Delhi zone has secured the top spot in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025, scoring an impressive 332 out of 360 marks. The results, declared by IIT-Kanpur on Monday, brought relief and jubilation to thousands of aspiring engineers across India.
Among female candidates, Devdutta Majhi from the IIT-Kharagpur zone led the charts. With a score of 312, she not only topped among girls but also secured 12th rank in the Common Ranking List (CRL), one of the highest ever female rankings in recent years.
The IIT-Hyderabad zone, which includes Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry, had a strong presence in the top 20. Arnav Singh (CRL 9), Vadlamudi Lokesh (10), Dharmana Gnana Rutvik Sai (18), Vangala Ajay Reddy (19), and Avanaganti Anirudh Reddy (20) emerged as top scorers from the region.
Ajay Reddy and Rutvik Sai also stood out in the reserved categories, emerging as toppers in the Gen-EWS and OBC-NCL quotas respectively.
This year, 1,87,223 students had registered for the exam, and 1,80,422 appeared for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 held on May 18. Of them, 54,378 candidates qualified for admission into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Among those who qualified, 9,404 were female candidates—reflecting a steady rise in gender representation in engineering.
