Jaya Sudha appointed jury chairperson for revived Gaddar Film Awards

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has appointed renowned Telugu actress and former MLA Jaya Sudha as the jury chairperson for the Gaddar Film Awards. Telangana Film Development Corporation (TFDC) Chairman Dil Raju formally entrusted her with the responsibility of evaluating the nominations received for the awards.

The first jury meeting under Jaya Sudha’s leadership was held on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, she said that she accepted the role as a challenge and assured that the selection of awardees would be conducted in a fair and meticulous manner.

Dil Raju stated that the government had revived the film awards after a hiatus of 14 years. He pointed out that even during the time of undivided Andhra Pradesh, the awards did not receive such a large number of applications. A total of 1,248 nominations have been submitted across various categories for the Gaddar Film Awards.

The scrutiny of nominations is scheduled to begin on 21 April.
