Hyderabad: Former minister and MLA G. Jagadish Reddy appealed to voters in Suryapet to support Colonel Santosh ’s mother, Manjula, in the municipal elections. He called her victory a mark of respect for a soldier who gave his life for the nation.
While campaigning on Sunday, Jagadish Reddy praised the late Colonel Santosh ’s service. He also stated that his mother’s candidacy represents a continuation of that public spirit. Importantly, he credited the KCR government with solving Suryapet’s drinking water problem- something previous governments failed to address.
Moreover, he criticised the Congress administration for neglecting basic civic duties. “They cannot even maintain a park,” he said. According to Jagadish Reddy, the Congress government did not release development funds. As a result, the town has slipped back to conditions seen before 2014.
Jagadish Reddy says Congress failed to deliver on promises
Jagadish Reddy alleged that Congress misled women with false promises of gold gifts. He further blamed the party for poor urea distribution, which caused distress among farmers. Additionally, he said the Revanth Reddy government was trying to cover up its failures by issuing SIT notices and using diversion tactics.
He slammed the Chief Minister for using offensive language. “That won’t fill empty stomachs,” Jagadish Reddy said. In contrast, he argued, schemes like Rythu Bandhu bring real relief to farmers.
Furthermore, Jagadish Reddy said Congress offered no real development. Instead, they only created drama to distract from failure. He urged voters to reject the party in the municipal elections. Only then, he argued, could Suryapet return to progress and clean governance.
