IPS Officers’ Association demands apology from Kaushik Reddy over remarks

Hyderabad: The Telangana IPS Officers Association on Friday condemned remarks made by BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy against Karimnagar Police Commissioner Goush Alam, calling them baseless and communal. The association described the MLA’s allegations as a serious affront to civil service integrity and demanded a public apology.

In a formal statement, the association said making religiously charged accusations against a serving IPS officer was unacceptable and undermined morale within the police force. It rejected all claims related to religious conversions, noting a lack of any supporting evidence.

The association urged authorities to initiate an inquiry into Kaushik Reddy’s conduct. It said the MLA’s remarks amounted to a personal attack on an officer performing his duties with fairness and professionalism. The group stressed that such statements damage public trust and compromise institutional discipline.

In response, Kaushik Reddy issued a video message apologising for his comments. He stated that the remarks were made in a moment of frustration and clarified that he did not intend to hurt any individual or religious group.
