Hyderabad: Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has issued strict directives to district collectors to ensure that houses constructed under the Indiramma housing scheme do not exceed 600 square feet. The instructions were delivered during a video conference on Friday, held in collaboration with Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, and attended by collectors and SPs to review progress on Indiramma housing, the Bhū Bhārati programme, and NEET examination arrangements.
The minister urged officials to expedite the selection of beneficiaries for the 3,500 houses allotted per assembly constituency. He instructed that the approval of incharge ministers must be obtained as each batch of the list is finalised. In urban areas, a minimum of 500 houses per constituency must be allocated, he added.
He warned that ineligible individuals identified at any stage, even during construction, would have their allotments cancelled. Regardless of their position in List-1, List-2, or List-3, only genuinely poor and eligible individuals must be selected, the minister stressed.
State-wide revenue conferences from May 5 to 20
Minister Ponguleti also announced that revenue meetings will be held in 28 mandals—one per district—from May 5 to May 20, following the pilot events conducted across four mandals last month. He directed that all applications received during these meetings must be resolved by May 31. If any case remains unresolved, written reasons must be provided for rejection.
He reported that out of 605 total mandals in the state, awareness sessions have already been held in 590. So far, 85,527 citizens and 1,62,577 farmers have participated. He emphasised the need for real-time updating of government land records and instructed that details of assigned lands—whether involving possession without patta or patta without possession—must be thoroughly collected.
NEET 2024: Seamless arrangements for students
Minister Ponguleti further instructed authorities to ensure foolproof arrangements for NEET 2024, scheduled for May 4. He said that 72,572 students from Telangana will appear for the examination across 190 centres in 24 districts.
To ensure student comfort, he ordered the availability of drinking water, ORS packets, and medical kits at all test centres. He also called for the early dissemination of exam guidelines to students through the media.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Revenue Department Principal Secretary Naveen Mittal, Housing Secretary Jyothi Buddha Prakash, CCLA Director Makarand, Housing Corporation MD V. P. Gautam, and Law & Order DIG Mahesh Bhagwat.
