Indiramma houses for all eligible poor in Hyderabad: Ponnam

Hyderabad: Indiramma houses will be sanctioned to all eligible poor in Hyderabad district, Transport and BC Welfare Minister and Hyderabad In-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said.

The Minister reviewed beneficiary selection and pending 2BHK works at a meeting held at the Secretariat. Minority Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin, Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Yadav, MLAs and MLCs attended the review.

Officials informed the meeting that 4,800 eligible L1 beneficiaries who possess house sites will receive funds for construction of 2BHK units. Meanwhile, authorities received over 4.22 lakh applications under the L2 category.

Indiramma houses push for vertical housing in city

The Minister said the government will identify land and take up G+5 to G+10 Indiramma houses within the city limits. Accordingly, departments will submit proposals after completing land identification.

He directed officials to complete all pending 2BHK houses and allot them to eligible beneficiaries without delay. Moreover, he asked departments to streamline the selection process to ensure transparency and speed.

GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan, Hyderabad Collector Hari Chandan and senior housing officials participated in the meeting.
