Hyderabad: Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy dropped by for a courtesy meet with Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Wednesday, with Khammam MP Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy also tagging along.
The minister laid out the nuts and bolts of two major initiatives Indiramma homes and the Bhubharati land reform legislation. Said the state was pushing through 4.5 lakh houses under the Indiramma scheme this year, with each Assembly segment set to get 3,500 units.
For tribal constituencies, that number’s going up somewhere between 500 and 700 extra houses per segment. He added that 10,000 homes were being earmarked specifically for Chenchu families under the ITDA areas.
Priority in the first phase? The poorest. No fuss about it.
He told the Governor that Indiramma homes were being sanctioned in villages under his care too. That includes Poosakunta and Gogulapudi in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Bhurki and Mangli in Adilabad, and Appapur and Bourapur in Nagarkurnool.
On the land reform side, Ponguleti said the Bhubharati Act meant to sort out decade-old land disputes was rolled out in trial mode last month across four mandals. From the 5th of this month, it’s running in 28 mandals across the state.
He stressed that applications were being taken without fees and that officials were pushing to settle cases on a war footing.
IDC chairman Muvva Vijay Babu and Housing Corporation MD VP Gautam were among others present during the interaction.
