iBomma piracy site admin Ravi arrested in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Telangana Cyber Crime Police on Saturday arrested Immadi Ravi, the key operator behind the iBomma piracy website. The site has been leaking Telugu films within hours of their release since 2019.

Ravi linked to ₹3,000 crore loss in Telugu cinema

A special CCS team tracked Ravi and took him into custody. Police presented him before the Nampally court the same day. Officials said Ravi often boasted that no one could catch him. However, cyber teams followed his digital footprint and located him successfully.

The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce filed a complaint that triggered the case. CCS then registered FIRs against iBomma and 65 linked piracy sites. So far, five people from the network have been arrested.

CCS continues crackdown on piracy network

Police described Ravi as the main handler who uploaded pirated content. His actions reportedly caused losses of over ₹3,000 crore to the Telugu film industry. Investigators are now tracing his network of agents and intermediaries. Officials said more arrests are likely soon.
