Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) will cut water supply in the city for two days starting September 9. The shutdown will last from 6 a.m. on September 9 to 6 a.m. on September 11.
Officials said the disruption is needed to replace major valves under the Godavari Phase-1 project. Pumping mains at Murmur, Mallaram, and Kondapaka stations will remain closed during the repair work.
Hyderabad two-day water supply disruption to affect key areas
The shutdown will affect several areas across the city. Division-6 localities such as SR Nagar, Sanathnagar, Borabanda, SPR Hills, Erragadda, Banjara Hills, Venkatrao Nagar, Ellareddiguda, Somajiguda, Fatehnagar, and Jubilee Hills will not receive water.
Divisions 4, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, and 22 will also face interruptions. Residents of Aleru, Medchal, and Shamirpet areas will be impacted as well.
Water board asks citizens to store water in advance
HMWS&SB urged people in the affected areas to store enough water before the shutdown. The board assured that supply would resume immediately after the repair and replacement works are completed.
