Hyderabad Police issue Diwali firecracker sale guidelines under Explosives Act

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Police announced new guidelines for Diwali firecracker sales within city limits. They said traders must obtain temporary licenses under the Explosives Act, 1983, before selling firecrackers. Police officials warned that anyone selling fireworks without permission would face strict legal consequences.

License applications open from October 9 to 15

According to the notification, applicants can submit manual applications between October 9 and October 15 using Form AE-5. The police will accept only complete applications with all necessary documents. Those who fail to attach the required papers will lose eligibility immediately.

Documents needed for license approval

Applicants must include a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the regional fire officer. Those planning stalls on government land must obtain permission from GHMC authorities, while sellers using private or patta land need the landowner’s written consent.

They must also attach the previous year’s license copy (if available), a site plan or blueprint of the stall location, and a ₹600 demand draft drawn from the State Bank of India, Treasury Branch, Gunfoundry, Hyderabad.

Police to act against illegal sales

The Hyderabad Police warned that officers would take immediate action against anyone selling firecrackers without a valid license. They urged traders to follow safety measures while storing and selling fireworks. Moreover, officials appealed to residents to celebrate Diwali responsibly and ensure a safe environment for all.
