Hyderabad: Hyderabad Traffic Police detected 343 drunk driving offenders during a two-day special enforcement drive conducted on March 20 and 21.
Police said 287 offenders were two-wheeler riders, while 24 were three-wheeler drivers. Another 32 cases involved four-wheelers and other vehicles.
Drunk driving crackdown records 343 cases
Officials analysed blood alcohol concentration levels across cases. They found 71 offenders in the 30–50 range and 143 in the 51–100 range. Meanwhile, 77 cases fell in the 101–150 category.
Further, 30 offenders recorded levels between 151 and 200. Another 14 cases fell in the 201–250 range. In addition, four cases each were recorded in the 251–300 and above 300 categories.
Police reiterated zero tolerance towards drunk driving violations. They said such enforcement drives would continue across the city.
They also urged commuters to cooperate with authorities to ensure road safety.
