Hyderabad police arrest man with banned e-cigarettes worth ₹2.5 lakh

Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, South-East Zone, along with IS Sadan Police, arrested a man for selling banned e-cigarettes in Hyderabad. Police seized e-cigarettes, a scooter, an iPhone, and cash worth about ₹2.5 lakh.

The accused is Tharif Hussain, 30, a two-wheeler dealer from Khalander Nagar. Officers caught him near IS Sadan with 90 ELFBAR e-cigarettes of different flavours, a Honda Activa scooter, an Apple iPhone, and ₹2,900 in cash.

Hyderabad banned e-cigarettes seized worth ₹2.5 lakh

Police said Hussain bought the banned e-cigarettes from a man named Aizaz and resold them at high prices to customers. Officers noted that the seized devices contain nicotine, which is harmful to health and banned under law.

Inspector S. Saidababu led the South-East Zone Task Force team in the raid. Sub-inspectors K. Rama Rao and M. Madhu, along with IS Sadan Police staff, joined the operation. Police are now tracing the supplier network.
